DVDs of HUMANICON SOUTHWEST 2004 are now available. Click on the DVD button to learn more about how you can order copies of all your favorite Guest Speakers' talks!

UPDATE:We have decided to postpone HUMANICON SOUTHWEST for a while. The Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix, which produced the first HUMANICON, has purchased its own building. This renovation project is currently taking all our efforts. We will produce HUMANICON when we can give our "all" to this exciting conference! We know we want to celebrate Charles Darwin's 200th Birthday in 2009, and we'll definitely do HUMANICON then, and possibly sooner. Watch this page for updates and announcements!

HUMANICON SOUTHWEST 2004 is now a glowing memory for those who spent a never-to-be-forgotten weekend in the company of our fellow Humanists, Freethinkers, Atheists, Agnostics, Brights and Skeptics from the Southwest and across the nation. Here are some of the fun things we enjoyed:

  • Friday the 13th Superstition Bash and welcome cocktail party.
  • Outstanding speakers in the fields of politics, science, entertainment, Humanism and more.
  • Cartoonist panel: "Tooning In Humanism"
  • Awards Luncheon Banquet with Barry Lynn
  • Dinner Banquet with Julia Sweeney
  • Humanist Film Festival, Featuring Continuous Humanistically-themed movies and Free Popcorn.
  • Musical Entertainment by The Opossums of Truth
  • Dealers' Room featured books, Darwin fish, Tee shirts, special displays by Humanist groups and much more.
  • Special student-oriented events, including representatives from the Secular Student Alliance and CFI-On Campus.

HUMANICON SOUTHWEST 2004 was made possible by a generous grant from the INSTITUTE FOR HUMANIST STUDIES. We are extremely grateful for their assistance, and we urge you to support this fine organization of dedicated Humanists. To learn more, go to their website at www.humaniststudies.org .
